Psalm 119:72 | “The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.”

The psalmist discovered that the word of God is far more valuable than silver or gold. Most of us would say the same. We insist that Scripture is precious to us. But is it really? Is it more valuable than a gift card or a check? We may skip church attendance because it is raining, or we are tired, or we just want a break. We neglect time in God’s word because our calendars feel full and our to do lists are long. But imagine if attending a church service meant you were gifted with one thousand dollars at the end of every sermon. Imagine if every fifteen minutes spent in Scripture came with a one hundred dollar bill. How often would you miss? How often would you neglect that time? Are you sure the word is more valuable to you than silver or gold? Ask God to show you where you fail to treasure his word as you should. Pray that he would make his word your highest priority in your heart and your schedule today.
