Psalm 119:91 | “By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.”
The heavens and the earth stand because God commands them to stand. They exist as servants of the King. Creation does not drift or function on its own. It serves the Lord and carries out his will. Jesus affirmed this during his triumphal entry. As the crowds praised him, the Pharisees demanded that he silence them, but Jesus replied in Luke 19:40, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” Creation itself is ready to honor its rightful King. Paul echoes this truth in Colossians 1:17. “And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” From the magnificent to the microscopic, nothing escapes his rule. Spurgeon wrote, “No atom escapes his rule, no world avoids his government.” Only the fool would desire to be free from such a wise and generous ruler. Let us join all creation and serve him with gladness today.
